And so the wind controller will output a whole lot of other controllers, sustain some notes, output some pitch bends, etc. There isn't a way of doing legato for instance. The difficulty with MIDI is that it's not a very good description of what you're playing. The only way to input notes with the EWI is to tongue every single note and play like a machine. When I play notes legato, they are input like a held-down chord so that every note I play is tied to the next one I play. I can't even get the notes to input properly.
Well this doesn't appear to work at all in Sibelius 5. I've just bought the new EWI USB wind controller thinking it would be really great to play wind, brass and string parts into Sibelius with real dynamic control and use the new "Live Input to Dynamics" function in Sibelius 6 to rather efficiently add the dynamics based on what I played.
